Digital Scrapbooking and OpenOffice 2.1
With the recent release of OpenOffice 2.1 which you can download here. I’ve been thinking about how we can use the draw program included as a great tool for doing some digital scrapbooking. So I decided to show off a few of the capabilities of the program with an image.
This was put together using OpenOffice 2.1 Draw in a matter of just a few minutes. I used images from this article.
The toughest part of this was adding the washout effect for the background image of the flowers on the belly button. I used two rectangle objects (one circular faded in and one square faded in) to get the effect I wanted where it would blend into the white background. Each of the images I also added a shadow to so they would seemingly “pop” out of the page.
The trick to making digital scrapbooking work is keeping it simple. For more info on scrapbooking, check out Mad Cropper. If you make something with the new OpenOffice 2.1 send me a sample and a link here.
