They can take something that is so solid and so lasting, melt it down into molten lava-like substances and fashion it into something beautiful. Dale Chihuly is the name that most people think of when they hear of glass art. Lately for me, it’s been Josh Simpson.

Josh has a very unique style to his art. Surprisingly, it seems to be very detail oriented. Entire worlds fill up the space in each of his planets. You can almost imagine little dolphins swimming beneath the surface. But Josh does more than just make little detailed paperweight planets. Vases and other glass objects have been incorporated into his very unique glass arts. It almost makes me wonder about what Dale Chihuly and Josh Simpson would create if they ever were to get

together? I’d love to see that! Maybe a whole solar system of glass built on a chandelier as a base? Who knows?

Josh says this about his work:

Images are the best way for you to see the wide variety of work I create. I am not someone who has a signature “thing” that I produce but there is a link or concept that binds everything I make.
