Still Drying. Fears as an Artist.

Okay, this is what I get for playing with marbleizing techniques with latex enamels. A long dry time. Checked it this evening… still wet. Oh, I am referring to the new painting I did the other day. You know, I am going to forget one of my paintings drying someday. I’ll just leave it somewhere and years later when someone is cleaning out a closet they’ll find it. Maybe they will put it in some art show, some dealer will love it and it will sell for thousands of dollars as an untitled painting by an unknown artist.

I’ll see it and try to tell everyone that I did it. Of course no one will believe me and I’ll die poor and wretched of some easily curable disease (if only I had a few dollars to buy that prescription).

Maybe it will finally dry and I can show it to the world just to get laughed at for trying a new technique too.

You can’t win.

Ah, waiting for the piece to dry…I paint in oils, so I understand the frustration. I’m looking forward to seeing the piece – whenever it’s ready.
