I was reading the blog “Southern Byways” this morning and SP Bragg is down at the LSU Art Museum.
I was curious where some other people have gone recently. Tell me about what art museums you’ve visited and experiences you’ve had recently.
 
What’s the best Art Museum you’ve been to? why? I am planning on visiting a few here in the next year and I’d like to know which places are worth the visit. I am thinking I am going to do a walk through tour podcast when I visit them. We’ll see.

I was sitting in Barnes and Noble earlier today and got caught up in a book I was reading, “Overcoming Anxiety for Dummies”.
 
Now at first glance, you might think, “what in the world does that have to do with art?”
I use art much of the time as an outlet for feelings and thoughts. Over the last year, I’ve come to realize that I struggle with anxiety and have had to come up with effective ways of dealing with it. Today it seemed to click at least on an intellectual level that I am “an approval addict”.

Realizing that many poem and literary works have fallen into the public domain over the years, I have contrived an addition to the blog that may become a permanent fixture if there seems to be response to it.
I love to read poetry. From Poe to Scott, and many in between, there is a beauty to the lyrics and rhythm of the words that can conjure images with even the most unimaginative artists. A friend of mine, Claude Barclay, told me about this free service that a select group of photographers take part in. He is considering joining this himself. To tell you the truth, it was a hard site to visit and view. But the images are captured eloquently and with the motive of healing for the families.

I recently wrote about some different things we were beginning to look at in terms of channel name changes with b5media. Specifically this channel, Arts and Crafts.
It’s been a lively internal debate as well as one that has been in the making from since the title “Arts and Crafts” was first coined.
Tammy Powley and Cyndi Lavin, both have been taking part along with me in the discussion along with a poll that Tammy is running there.

Most people remember watching “Mr. Ed” at some time in their life. This horse isn’t Mr. Ed but he can paint. Well, maybe it’s true that anyone can paint if they put their mind to it.
Cholla, a quarter horse seems to enjoy painting. While most of us discover art in school at some point, Cholla discovered his art while one of his owners was painting a fence.

I’ve been fighting a dilemma over the last few days. It’s why my posts have been a little more infrequent as of late. Quite truthfully, it’s been revealing as it’s been hard.
As channel editor for the Arts and Crafts channel with b5media, I have a certain responsibility for the direction of the channel, with what new blogs come into b5 in my channel, etc and so on.
We are experiencing growth in b5media, in a great way. Things are happening. New blogs, new bloggers… in short, it’s been good growth.
