iGasm, uGasm, weAllgasm.

Sex toys just got a whole lot more trendy. But the debate about this one isn’t should or shouldn’t. It’s about stealing the advertising campaign of a product for the sake of promoting a related product.
The poster shown here is a prime example for the allegedly stolen content. Apple has been using the silhouetted figure of people dancing to music in their prime campaign for their iPod.

Apple wants the stores to remove all posters for iGasm and hopes that removing iGasm ads will prevent them from taking further actions. “Apple lawyers claim the poster is …read more

Take part in the “Artist Hideout Challenge”

Take part in the “Artist Hideout Challenge”

I recently hit on the idea to make a digital artwork that was the same width and posting requirements for my blog. One that was rendered specifically for the space but you had to scroll to get the full image. I hadn’t seen anything like this anywhere else. With that in mind, I am opening up the Artist Hideout Challenge.
Make an artwork that fits these dimensions (400px x 1300px) using any theme or software that you prefer. Submit it here and I will post it for inclusion. Be sure to include the name of the software you used to create …read more

Let Google Sell your Painting for You

Let Google Sell your Painting for You

I’ve become a little frustrated by the ebay scene as of late. Sure, you can sell your art via ebay, promote them on your blog and let the buyers bid them up. But what if the item doesn’t sell? How will you distinguish your item from the rest out there?
I think this has been one of those ongoing debates in the art 2.0 world for a long time. www.artflock.com offers a great service for selling your art, and that’s what I’d recommend to anyone who wants to sell their work. It’s an amazing service. …read more

Lost and Found: Motivation and Sunshine

Lost and Found: Motivation and Sunshine

Have you ever started a drawing or project and you came to a stopping point for the day, you clean up, and plan to come back to it tomorrow, the next day comes, but the enthusiasm that you had for the project has somehow waned throughout the night?
This happens to me a lot.
So now I have a new dilemma.
Do I

a.) work on the project that I really don’t feel like doing now.
b.) Put it aside for later, hoping the inspiration returns and work on something else.
c.) keep it on the drawing table, constantly reminding me that it’s not done.

Doodles while Waiting – Comic Ideas

Doodles while Waiting – Comic Ideas

One my favorite types of animal is a bear. Any bear, but especially Polars and Pandas. Lately, I’ve started a larger drawing of a bear too using this particular pose.
I recently got an inspiration for a comic I’d like to try to draw.
Here’s the gist:

You know those little teddy bear hamsters, what if a bear, (a tiny grizzly bear) got thrown into the mix? He lives in a hamster cage with a wheel and all, has free roam of the top of a desk where his cage is, and happens to also be computer savvy for …read more

Unique Art: Sand Fantasy

Unique Art: Sand Fantasy

Ilana Yahav is a sand animation artist.

Using only her fingers, Ilana draws with sand on a glass table.

I found this to be very relaxing to watch. It’s amazing how working in sand can afford this type of detail and evoke emotions. The music probably helps convey the mood thought the images can definitely stand on their own.

This is probably another one of those art forms I’ll have to try one day. Check out Ilana’s website, www.sandfantasy.com for live shows and dvd info.
