How to defrag and reclaim life and creativity.

How to defrag and reclaim life and creativity.

There is a process of cleaning out your computer called “defragmenting”. It’s a long name for taking all the working files on your computer and “straightening up” so to speak. I have a theory that there’s some truth in this for people too. Our minds can get so wrapped up in getting things done, getting from point A to point B, and making it through life, that we just begin to run slower and slower and slower.
Sure, we have ideas. We have dreams, and we have a plan. But somehow the everyday life things overwhelm …read more

On Vacation…. But still working… kinda.

I’ve been getting used to our new digital camera. I managed this shot last night in the log cabin we are in for the rest of the week. I’ll try to take you all on the vacation with us via flickr for the rest of the week. We are going to try to stop by some craft fairs too.

Enjoying Nature: On the fly macro.

Enjoying Nature: On the fly macro.

Today, I just went out for a walk to enjoy nature and I happened to see this and snapped a quick picture. I thought it turned out cool. I had the panoramic feature turned on on our new digital camera. Macro images always have fascinated me. I just thought I’d share this one.

Playing with Illustration and Texture

Playing with Illustration and Texture

Rarely does my own artwork become an exercise in illustration, so I must confess that it is with some reluctance that I share the following work in progress.

Art and the Artist

Art and the Artist

I recently was browsing a book in a local Barnes and Noble and read the statement “There is no such thing as art. There are only artists.”

(By the way, is it me or does one feel they have to have a Phd. to ‘get’ books about art?) Here is the question I would pose based off of that statement above:

Does the art make …read more

In the Air tonight. A Lesson in the Creative Mind.

In the Air tonight. A Lesson in the Creative Mind.

I saw this awhile back and really enjoyed the process that Phil Collins used in writing this hit song “In the Air tonight”.
Tapping into the creative process is sometimes as simple as playing with what you know and tapping into our feelings.
Enjoy.

Seven Random Facts about me.

Seven Random Facts about me.

I’ve been tagged by Noreen over at Hankering for Yarn.

“Each person tagged gives seven random facts about themselves. Those tagged need to write in their blogs seven facts, as well as the rules of the game. You need to tag seven others and list their names on your blog. You have to leave those you plan on tagging a note in their comments so they know that they have been tagged and need to read your blog.”

So here are my random seven facts.
