That tends to seal it tighter to the surface you are masking OR another trick that takes longer but definitely works is: apply your tape, burnish it, paint the over it edges with the color that&#039;s underneath and when that&#039;s dry, apply the paint color you want to show. That way if any paint sneaks under the tape&#039;s edge, it&#039;s the same color as the under paint.
