Just to let you know that about 5 minutes ago, ArtFlock.com went live!
There are still some more bits that I need to do but it’s 90% there.
Here is a list of improvements:1. Ability to add artwork in 3 currencies, US Dollar, Pound Sterling and Euro
2. Create different prices for different delivery countries
3. Larger thumbnails, double the size
4. Artwork Rating
5. Improved art search including:
results per page choice
ordering by rating, price, date etc
6. Search storage, each search is stored (not in relation to the user so privacy is not affected - it’s totally anonymous) so in the future we can use this for trend watching.
7. Browse, it’s a click though where visitors can just click on link and get shown a random artwork
8. (my favorite) Home page features top rated artwork over a certain time period so you can see the most popular artwork in the last 24 hours and even up to the last year. If you’ve ever used digg.com, the concept is similar.
9. Currency conversion. Visitors can choose to view prices on the site in either US Dollars, Euro or Pound Sterling. At the checkout, prices are charged in the original currency and then PayPal convert that amount into the card holders currency so there may be a variation.
10. Image manipulation. Image resize is a lot more efficient and we hope to bring crop and rotate functionality soon.That’s about it for now I think, would be good to hear your thoughts.
