MySpace has launched a new project called Coalition Comix, where users determine the storyline. 

It seems pretty basic but it’s a novel idea on getting people involved in the project.  More than a choose your own adventure book, users will apparently impact even the deepest parts of the storyline. 

Let’s just hope users don’t kill off the main character eh?

Anyway, the writer/artist is Mike Carey

MIKE CAREY is the critically acclaimed and fan-favorite writer of comics, novels, movies, and TV. After working for several UK and American indie publishers, Mike got his big break in comics with celebrated runs on LUCIFER and HELLBLAZER from DC/Vertigo.
Since then, he has written iconic characters such as Batman, Vampirella and Elektra. Currently he is writing X-MEN and ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR for Marvel, CONFESSIONS OF A BLABBERMOUTH for DC/Minx (with his teenage daughter Louise), and VOODOO CHILD for Virgin Comics.

Now I am not down on abstract art in any way.  Most of mine is abstract too.  I just think that as any kind of artist, we must come to the realization that not everyone is going to understand our work, in fact… count on it.

Well, that’s been me lately.  Some kind of sinus infection has hijacked my nose and trampled it in some dark alley.

So, I am writing this snot-infused post to let you know, that even though I am still alive somewhere mourning the belligerent virus that has so taken over me that I feel like a member of the living dead, I hope normal posting can resume again soon.

Until then, I must admit that there is a certain joy in just writing when completely hyped up on cold medicines.  Maybe, I’ll just continue writing while I am sick for the fun of seeing what I could get away with.

Okay, I’ve gotten a little hung up on getting my wacom tablet, but Amazon came to the conclusion that it was lost in the mail somewhere, so they are replacing it. 

Meanwhile, I’ve been refining my comic plan over the last week, and here is the first installment albeit completely drawn with a mouse instead of a tablet like I hoped.

Anyway, the comic will be a regular feature here eventually.

There are times in my art, that I feel it is calling me to be a little less aggressive. To take a step back and make some realizations about my direction and focus is hard to do sometimes.
