MySpace has launched a new project called Coalition Comix, where users determine the storyline. 

It seems pretty basic but it’s a novel idea on getting people involved in the project.  More than a choose your own adventure book, users will apparently impact even the deepest parts of the storyline. 

Let’s just hope users don’t kill off the main character eh?

Anyway, the writer/artist is Mike Carey

image MIKE CAREY is the critically acclaimed and fan-favorite writer of comics, novels, movies, and TV. After working for several UK and American indie publishers, Mike got his big break in comics with celebrated runs on LUCIFER and HELLBLAZER from DC/Vertigo.
Since then, he has written iconic characters such as Batman, Vampirella and Elektra. Currently he is writing X-MEN and ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR for Marvel, CONFESSIONS OF A BLABBERMOUTH for DC/Minx (with his teenage daughter Louise), and VOODOO CHILD for Virgin Comics.

Now I am not down on abstract art in any way.  Most of mine is abstract too.  I just think that as any kind of artist, we must come to the realization that not everyone is going to understand our work, in fact… count on it.

Granted, you aren’t drawing anything more than simple shapes, but it’s still pretty fun.  crayon_shot_02

]]> There’s that strange feeling you get when you’ve been sick for a few days, and the rest of the world can just …um, go away.

Well, that’s been me lately.  Some kind of sinus infection has hijacked my nose and trampled it in some dark alley.

So, I am writing this snot-infused post to let you know, that even though I am still alive somewhere mourning the belligerent virus that has so taken over me that I feel like a member of the living dead, I hope normal posting can resume again soon.

Until then, I must admit that there is a certain joy in just writing when completely hyped up on cold medicines.  Maybe, I’ll just continue writing while I am sick for the fun of seeing what I could get away with.

]]> Many Artists usually battle any kind of organizing types of responsibilities.  I know I am like this.  Piles of papers can at times line the edges of my desk and a more than elaborate network of chores and todos can be posted in non-linear fashion within my mind at any one time.  However, I have found that there is usually a simpler way of living in putting together lists of things that intrigue or pique my interest.

I didn’t think too much of it then, but a few months later now, I am now thinking about it a little more.
