Defining “Good art”
This might sound like a justification for “technically bad” art but it’s not. I have been thinking about this lately. I guess, I woke up with it on my mind. What defines art as “good”?
To use an example from the Bible, when God created the world He didn’t need any outsiders opinion to let Him know it was good.
I think this is true for us as we create as well. We don’t need anyone else to let us know if we have created something that measures up to their standards. The trick about creating anything is to do it without this pressure. If they like it, they like it. If they don’t, well they can ____________(insert your own thought here). You might notice, I’m not an art critic. I judge art only for myself the way I see it, if I like it, and I’d encourage you to do the same.
With that being said, we can become better artists. When we reach a point that through our art, viewers can begin to experience that art from our perspective.
